MOT Testing

Wyvern Service Station is a government approved Vehicle Operator Services Agency (VOSA) station and has been for close to 30 years. All tests are conducted by MOT testers nominated by VOSA who are also experienced mechanics with many years of MOT testing. So you can rest assured that your vehicle will be in safe hands. We are known throughout Worcester for our honest approach to vehicle testing and repairs which is what keeps our customers coming back year after year. We are licensed to test cars, vans and light commercial vehicles.

Book your MOT

Book your MOT online at a time that suits you! Remember you can book your MOT one month before the expiry of your current certificate giving you valuable time should anything be wrong, without losing the last month of your current certificate.

What is an MOT?

If your car is more than 3 years old you are required by law to have a Ministry of Transport (MOT) safety check every year. This is to check it meets the MINIMUM safety standard for your vehicle to be safe on the road.

What is tested in an MOT?

The test involves a safety check of the following items:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN number)
  • Registration Plate
  • Lights
  • Steering and suspension
  • Windscreen
  • Wipers and washer bottle
  • Horn
  • Seatbelts
  • Seats
  • Fuel system
  • Emissions checks
  • Bodywork
  • Doors
  • Mirrors
  • Wheels and Tyres
  • Brakes

If your car passes the safety check you will be issued with a VT20 Pass certificate, should your vehicle fail a VT30 failure document will be given to you. If your vehicle fails on small items such as bulbs we can fix those immediately. If it fails on other items we will be able to give you a fully comprehensive quote of exactly how much the work and parts will cost to fix your car so that it can pass its MOT.

Our highly trained staff at Wyvern Service Station can offer expert advice on any aspect of the safety of your car. We can issue advisory notices which advise you of items that have passed the test today but will require you to ‘keep an eye on them’ for future repair. Please remember for your own safety, the safety of others and your vehicle the MOT test is not a substitute for regular maintenance of your car. It is simply a check that your car is safe to drive for that day.
